UPDATE as of Dec. 16, 2024: New and improved version!
As much as I love working with this base, there's always room for improvement! Luckily (since I designed this birdhouse from scratch), I can make refinements and add features, which is exactly what I did. A new batch has been fabricated with my latest changes, including an updated door design and stronger magnetic catch. All large birdhouse blanks now ship from this stock.
I looked for a waterproof birdhouse for about 10 years. I finally decided I would make my own! This birdhouse is completely waterproof, has an inset roof to protect mosaic work, has drain holes, can be mounted on a mounting pole, and is very sturdy. I hope you have as much fun mosaicking it as I do. It can be displayed indoors or outdoors.
You can also check out my other birdhouse blank option, if you’re looking for something smaller.
This is a grouting package for use with my mosaic kits or online classes. It includes grout + pigment, admix, gloves, mask, and a small sponge. You will still need to provide the following: bucket of water, newspaper, lint-free polishing cloth (old t-shirts are great).
The small option includes grout sufficient for up to 2.0 sq-ft of coverage; the large option covers up to 3.0 sq-ft. See the table below for equivalents when grouting votive cups or picture frames. These are conservative estimates, but more grout may be necessary if you have exceptionally wide spacing between tesserae.
